Laura Spansel Gravener
Laura Spansel Gravener has spent the majority of her career defending insurers with respect to first-party and third-party claims in Louisiana state and federal courts. She has experience handling cases involving homeowners, commercial, auto, and directors and officers liability policies. She also has been involved in litigating general commercial contractual disputes. She is excited to return to practicing commercial litigation after recently spending a period of time teaching civics and law studies to high school juniors and seniors and then clerking for the Honorable Kurt D. Engelhardt of the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Laura graduated summa cum laude and second in her class from Loyola University School of Law in 2005, after which she spent a year clerking for the Honorable Kurt D. Engelhardt at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. While in law school, she was a member and editor on the Loyola Law Review and a moot court staff member.
Laura enjoys tackling complex legal issues and advocating for her clients. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering in her community, running, and taking in all New Orleans has to offer with her family.
